 Treatment Advice

"But the most exercise I get is wrestling the newspaper off the dog!"

Don't worry, I don't just treat sporty people. In fact, most of my

clients are people who are suffering with pain because of the

work they carry out. If you spend a lot of time driving or sat at a

computer you are sure to have expereinced that burning pain

 between your shoulder blades.

 Medical advice:

Certain medical conditions can be affected by the treatments.

Generally speaking, if you suffer from any of the following

ailments you will not be able to receive a treatment: Heart

defects, high temperature/fever, blood clots/deep vein thrombosis

(DVT), severe varicose veins or history of thrombosis, infectious

 skin diseases, bacterial/fungal infections.

It is still possible to get a massage during cancer treatment but I will require a letter from your GP or consultant to confirm  it is ok. A relaxing massage or treatment can be a wonderful way to perk yourself up.

 Pregnancy:

Please note that body massage treatments will not be carried out during the first trimester.  After this time, massage  treatments will be offered and altered accordingly. If you are worried please speak to your GP or Midwife before booking.

 Age restrictions:

There is no upper or lower age limit for a sports massage as each one is catered to you and is adapted as  necessary. Sports massage is suitable for all - to date, my youngest client has been 3 and my eldest 86. Please note, anyone under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian present during the entire treatment.

 Dress:

Each treatment is slightly different, but generally, full body treatments require just underwear/swim-wear. Specific area  treatments require removal of clothing in that area only. You will always be covered in towels during the treatment to keep  you warm and to make you feel comfortable.

For postural assessments and specific areas of injury I would recommend shorts and a t-shirt/vest-style top as I need to  see the muscles working so may get you walking around, stretching etc...

If in doubt, please get in touch as I want you to feel completely comfortable during any treatment.
